Interlacing

Interlaced video captures 50 images per second (also known as fields), with every two consecutive fields forming a frame. Interlacing was developed many years ago for analog TV and is still widely used today. It provides good results when viewing motion in standard TV images, although there is always some degree of distortion in the images.
